Tomás Gubbins er en chilensk komponist, improvisator, guitarist og underviser, der har fokuseret sit arbejde på eksperimentel og improviseret musik. Med særlig interesse for grænsen mellem det visuelle og lydlige, undersøger Gubbins i øjeblikket typologier og grafiske værktøjer til at notere, repræsentere og afgrænse visse musikalske/lydkontekster, med det mål at give en klar fortælling til visse improvisationskonstruktioner.

I deres nye duo blander de to genrefrie musikere Simon Camatta og Vincent Graf von Schlippenbach aka DJ Illvibe alt, hvad der har samlet sig i løbet af de sidste par år. Denne duo er meget friere end deres sidste trio Hamdsome Couple feat. DJ Illvibe. De er ikke bange for at 'droppe' et beat, og improviserer sig gennem en farverig verden af lyde og rytmer, fri for dogmer.

Karin Johansson (SE) and Tomás Gubbins (CL) get together to play a concert at
PRiMi focused on the string, its limits and possible expansions. From little constructs, the duo unfolds sound environments for texture, timbre and
silences. Karin Johansson is swedish pianist and composer in improvised music, free jazz and contemporary. She is working with alternative techniques, using preparations and objects.

Tomás Gubbins is chilean composer, improviser, guitar player, and educator who has been developing his work in the fields of so called Experimental and Improvised Music.
Particularly interested in the edge between image and sound, Gubbins is currently
investigating typologies and graphic devices to notate, represent and delimit certain
musical/sound contexts, aiming for giving a clear narrative to certain improvisational
constructs.

Much freer than their last trio as Hamdsome Couple feat. DJ Illvibe, but not afraid to drop a beat, they improvise their way through the colorful world of sounds and rhythms, free from dogma.
