"I am inspirered by nature, npt only because I use it to extracts the colors, but also becasue it is from there that I take the images, and the I weave them. I focus in small details, images that attract my attention, or respond to concepts that I am working on. From the image I work digitally, adapt it to the size of the loom and the number of threds I have, reduce the colors and add the patterns with which I want to work."
Francesca Piñol er kunstner og professor i tekstiler, Escola Massana, Art and Design Center, Barcelona.
Hun har en BA i antropologi fra University of Barcelona (UB) og en MA i tekstildesign fra Catalonian Politecnique University (UPC). Hun udvidede sine studier med ophold i udlandet: på Skolen for Brugskunst (Designskolen) i København i 1989 og på CIETA (International d'Etude Centres des Textiles Anciens) i Lyon i 1994 og 95. Hun har også haft kunstneriske ophold som Contextile i Portugal i 2012 og Arctic Circle 2015 (15. ekspedition).
