Botany and Wine - a sensory tour with wine tasting in the Botanical Garden

We often turn to fruits, flowers and herbs to describe the complex aromas and flavours of wine. On this tour, you will have the opportunity to smell a variety of plants while tasting four specially selected wines.

During this exclusive event, one of our Botanical Garden guides will lead you through the garden alongside Qian Janice Wang, Associate Professor of Food Science at the University of Copenhagen and the only resident of Denmark to have passed the notoriously challenging Master of Wine exam. The tour and wine tasting will help refining your wine tasting skills and deepen your appreciation of the aromas that make each wine unique.

Experience Denmark's greatest living plant collection with all your senses as we connect the world of plants and wine through taste and scent, all in the lush surroundings of the Botanical Garden.

The tour takes place both outdoors in the romantic garden and indoors in the iconic Victorian Palm House. The wines, carefully curated for this event, will take your nose and palate on a journey from fresh to pungent. Along the way, you will be introduced to a broad spectrum of wine aromas and their corresponding plants.

Your ticket also includes free access to one visit to the Palm House during normal opening hours on the day of the event, giving you the chance to explore its wonders at your own pace.

ABOUT THE BOTANICAL GARDEN - A LIVING MUSEUM

The Botanical Garden is a green haven in the heart of Copenhagen, inviting you to immerse yourself in the world of nature. The Botanical Garden was laid out in 1874 according to a garden plan by landscape gardener H.A. Flindt. It was then renovated in 2012 by landscape architect Jens Hendeliowitz, who, among other things, is known for the restoration of the palace gardens at Fredensborg and Frederiksborg as well as the King's Garden in Copenhagen.

This historic garden is part of the Natural History Museum Denmark and stands out from other parks in the city by serving as a living museum with research, dissemination, teaching and nature conservation as its main objectives.
