Homemade Remedy for Patching Time

Is a deeply personal exploration of the '90s, blending dance, sound, scenography, and light to reflect on a turbulent era. In my memory, historical events are mixing up with personal trauma.

The final decade of the 20th century, seen through my perspective as an Italian, marks a period of profound change-from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the Yugoslav Wars, and the collapse of Italy's "First Republic," all intertwined with the unexpected death of my father in 1990.
The '90s linger inside me as a frozen time, one that I attempt to unfreeze on stage through intuitive, half-obscure, performative strategies. By involving left overs from a party, two large pillows, and my dancing body, I explore this era's emotional residue, offering a fragmented yet intimate experience of what remains.
In collaboration with sound designer Rafael Cañete Fernández, the performance incorporates live-recorded sounds and music derived from them playing with figures and techniques from Drum'n'Bass music. The light design by Thora Eriksen emphasises the contrast between what is seen and hidden and invites the audience to reflect on themes of memory, presence, and absence.
