34 Afghan Windows

"Elena Yaqubee is from Afghanistan and has been searching for a home since she was born. After experiencing the effects of war, injustice and oppression in her native Afghanistan, Elena fled her homeland to Iran and then travelled from Iran to Turkey, from Turkey to Greece and from Greece to Germany. She recently applied for asylum in Germany and is still searching for her home. In recent years, Elena has devoted herself to music, which has helped her to give meaning to her life and express her feelings. The music and the poems of 34 Afghan Windows not only speak about Elena's own life experiences, but they also speak on behalf of countless others, telling of the bitter reality shared by forgotten people in lands without a voice.".
