'Hayao Miyazaki and the Heron' explores the complex relationship between Miyazaki and producer Toshio Suzuki, as the latter pushes him even further into his creativity, and presents a revelatory portrait of the man and the artist, as he opens up about inspiration and obsession, ageing, his postponed retirement, and grief at the loss of fellow animator Isao Takahata.
The documentary gives an Intimate glimpse at the life and work of Hayao Miyazaki, filmed over seven years during the making of his masterpiece, 'The Boy and The Heron'.
