On Saturday, 23 November 2024, at 3:00 pm, this year's Christmas Concert of Hearts will take place again in the Sønderjyllandshallen. The organiser is the Bund Deutscher Nordschleswiger - Bezirk Apenrade
The programme includes gospel, Danish, German and English Christmas songs, sung by the choirs Combo Vocale under the direction of Carl-Walter Petersen, RockPopChor Nordschleswig under the direction of Monika Merz, the women's choir of the Kiel police under the direction of Rebekka Petersen-Ritz, and Aabenraa Shantykor with Pia Jeanette Nielsen as conductor. Carl-Walter Petersen, keyboard, will also be there. There will be refreshments during the interval and, in keeping with tradition, the concert will end with "O come all ye Faithfull" and "Dejlig er Jorden". The chairman of the "A Heart for Everyone - Et hjerte for alle" campaign, Mayor Jan Riber Jakobsen, will read a Christmas story. Nis-Edwin List-Petersen is once again responsible for the organisation and programme planning this year and will host the event. All the participants are performing for free, so that the entrance fee goes in full to the "A Heart for Everyone" campaign, which aims to "eliminate the poor Christmas in Aabenraa", i.e. that financially disadvantaged residents of Aabenraa can get a financial handout during the costly Christmas season.
