Wordsword is an open and creative writing circle hosted by Patrick Horner, inviting writers of all backgrounds to join their weekly sessions at Literaturhaus.
Held every Monday from 5 to 7 pm, Wordsword offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage in prompt-based writing exercises and share their work in a supportive group setting. During each session, participants respond to new writing prompts with timed exercises, embracing a ?freefall? style that encourages them to write freely without overthinking structure, form, or grammar. This ?first thought, best thought? philosophy often leads to the creation of new material that can be expanded upon or integrated into ongoing projects. After the writing exercises, participants are encouraged to share their work with the group, providing a chance to explore fresh ideas or advance works in progress. This collaborative environment allows writers to see how others approach the same prompts, fostering a sense of community and mutual inspiration. Wordsword is a welcoming space for anyone interested in exploring their writing, connecting writers to Copenhagen?s diverse literary communities. While the group operates primarily in English, participants are welcome to write and share in any language. Writers of all genres?poetry, fiction, non-fiction, playwriting, novels, and more?are invited to join, from beginners to established authors. Patrick Horner is a Canadian poet and engineer based in Denmark, specializing in developing water treatment technologies. His literary works, encompassing poetry and fiction, have been featured internationally in various journals and magazines.
