Gender and Sexuality in Antiquity. Pride at The Glyptotek 15 August at 7 pm.
Celebrate Copenhagen Pride with a guided tour at the Glyptotek, where we look at the sculptures with a contemporary eye as we explore the tales and mythological figures of the Antiquity. We will take a closer look at selected sculptures from the collection, which tell different stories about gender, sexuality and power. We delve into ambiguous gender roles and sexual orientations, which characterize many of the ancient mythological figures of antiquity, but we will also hear about how the freedom of the myths was very different from the everyday life for ordinary Greeks.
