Aftenen bliver en rejse gennem den danske madkultur med New York-kok Steve Satander. Steve er vokset op i et diverst New York-miljø og har gennem sin opvækst stiftet bekendtskab med alverdens madkulturer. I sine eksperimenterende måltider lader han sig inspirere af sine mange rejser rundt i verden og menneskerne i hans liv. Gennem madlavningsmetoder fra hele verden vil han vise os en helt ny side af dansk madkultur.

About Steve Satander and Traveling Supper Club (@traveling.supperclub)
Having studied fine art from a young age, I always had an eye for aesthetics and a hand for creating. In my late teenage years, my vacations would usually consist in studying a craft, or taking a class. This connected me with a variety of artisans and I learned skills from jewelry makers, cobblers, metal smiths, and woodworkers. I then studied architecture at university but never felt the same passion there as I had when creating so decided to apprentice as a glassblower then as a tailor. I fell in love with not only each craft but the constant learning and need to create.
Although my art has taken many forms throughout the years, Traveling Supper Club is a culmination of my past experiences and the place where I am able to merge my love of traveling and food. I grew up in a very diverse community with friends from all over the world and was lucky enough to try some of their family meals growing up. I have fond memories of eating all types of cuisines and I use my travels as opportunities to learn about local food and get inspiration for new recipes. This art form is never static, always evolving and allows for continuous growth as I travel from one destination to the next.
Traveling Supper Club is a way of bringing communities together through the joy of food. Sharing food allows us to form connections and bond over something that makes us happy. We try to bring a fresh perspective to the city or culture we're cooking in. By learning from the local cuisine and using seasonal ingredients, it creates a familiar dining experience while still adding a personal touch. The food might feel nostalgic to some yet very unique to others as it can be surprisingly simple or deeply complex.
For Traveling Supper Club, every cooking experience is also an occasion to continue learning from collaborators, other chefs, and the guests themselves. We value ideas and are always looking for ways to get creative with events, recipes, and the overall culinary journey that is Traveling Supper Club.
