*OBS. DENNE WORKSHOP FOREGÅR PÅ ENGELSK. Explore the possibilities of algae in terms of its materiality and metaphors at a workshop at Havmøllen April 2nd from 11.00-16.00.
We are a German/Danish artist collective from Berlin, who will be setting up an "Algae Lab" during a residency at Havmøllen. As part of this, we are inviting participants to a workshop on Wednesday April 2nd. We would like to create objects together with the algae, related to our consumption culture, as well as to our connection with the sea: weaving with algae, making bioplastics, painting with algae pigments: desirable, ready-to-wear accessories and practical objects will be created
Additionally, together we will make a large cyanotype print on fabric right by the sea: a visual feast of algae, people, hair, plastic, sand, wind, jellyfish - blurring the boundaries between the human and non-human world.
The results of the workshop will be exposed to the sun, and later for attending visitors as a welcoming installation as part of the Spring Celebration at Havmøllen on Friday evening April 4th, that will include an Algae-infused Entree and further Algae Lab prototypes.
ABOUT THE ARTIST COLLECTIVEOur artist collective consists of Daniel Kupferberg, Kathrin Köster and Carolin Seeliger. Coming from different artistic backgrounds (painting, performance, photography), we as an artist collective are focused on experimental, collaborative learning related to various aspects of nature.
Challenging ourself by giving up authorship within this constellation, instead focusing on co-creation, we aim to create shared spaces of experience, bridging knowledge between art and science, humans and the surrounding nature and enable experiences that trigger transformations.
PRACTICALDate and time: Wednesday April 2nd, 11.00-16.00
Price: Free to participate but registration is necessaryMax. 15 participants
The workshop will be held in English
Adress: Havmøllevej 12, 8400 Ebeltoft
Parking: Please park at the public parking lot at Jernhatten.
