La Vila Nova Recordings presents Australian underground music iconic guitarist/songwriter JOHNNY CASINO will be (for the first time!) in Sweden in 6th of September 2024.
At the tender age of 14 johnny started out playing guitar at Race horse Tracks, Biker Gang Rallies, Bars, BBQ's, Weddings and just about anywhere he could get his hand in until he founded and formed the legendary Australian rock'n'roll band ASTEROID B612 (once described by Nicke Andersson of the Hellacopters as a major influence on his band, they would also go on to record a cover version of one of Johnny's great songs ¨I just don't know about girls¨ for their album Head Off)
Asteroid B612 would explode themselves into hearts and minds of the Australian underground rock'n'roll world, record 5 albums, tour America in 1996 and then implode upon themselves by 2000 when Johnny decided to turn his focus to his solo music and living abroad in America.
During the next 24 years Johnny would go on to make more than 15 albums under the Johnny Casino moniker and a few other different guises, those albums would feature the cream of Australia's rock'n'roll crop, with members of such bands as The Hoodoo Gurus, The Celibate Rifles, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, The Stems, The Clouds, The Eastern Dark, Grinderman, The Triffids, You Am I, The Volcanics, The Drones and many more all featuring on Johnny's albums over the years.
Since 2015 Johnny has lived on the east coast of Spain touring Europe and recording and releasing album after album, his latest LP ¨High Stone¨ was recorded in Philadelphia, North America and released by Folc Records Spain and Cheersquad Records Australia and New Zealand, the album has received rave reviews all round the globe and already features on many 2024 favorite albums lists.
So for the first time!! in Sweden Johnny and his band of Dimi Dero (Mick Harvey, Kim Salmon, Burn In Hell) on Drums and Vinz Guilluy (Holy Curse, Charles De Goal, Penny Ikinger) on Bass will be playing concerts in Malmo, Stockholm, Ulricehamn and Gothenburg.
