Rudersdal Museer, Mothsgården

Mothsgården er Danmarks ældste bevarede landsted. I slutningen af 1600-tallet var den ejet af Matthias Moth (1649-1719), som var sprogforsker og topembedsmand under Christian 5.. På Mothsgården kan man se et bind af Moths ordbog, som er den første ordbog over det danske sprog. Desuden har gården skiftende udstillinger, som belyser Rudersdalegnens historie i både lokalt og internationalt perspektiv. Gården er også ramme for en række spændende kulturhistoriske arrangementer. Mothsgården ligger mellem kirken og kroen i Søllerød og er et godt udgangspunkt for en tur i Kirkeskoven eller langs Søllerød sø.

Mothsgården was, at the end of the 17th century, the luxury property of councilor to the King and linguist Matthias Moth. Several original elements have been preserved in the farm's main building. Mothsgården is located between the church and the inn in Søllerød and is a good starting point for a trip in Kirkeskoven (the forest) or along the Søllerød lake
